OBJECTIVES OF AFReG-Ghana
Commit to the whole task of mission in Ghana and the world
Call the church to her role in being salt and light in society
Develop a new theology of mission that has as its goal the complete transformation of individuals and their situations
The need for improved Church-State partnership for the accelerated development of Ghana.
Church leaders must be informed and properly oriented to understand policy and development issues and the choices that genuine political leaders have to make.
The government must be convinced that it is good for the nation and politics to constructively engage the church.
The need to establish a regular forum for State –Church relationship which would bring together experts, church leaders and politicians to discuss the State--Church relationship for the enhanced development of Ghana.
Participants agree that change and transformation is very necessary, very urgent, and possible to achieve in Africa through the power of God. Such change is not merely cosmetic.
It ought to be radical beginning from the changes which take place in the lives of individuals who form the churches and Christian communities, and is expressed in how the individuals become the salt and light of our communities and nations. We agree that the desired change will be possible when the following values are embraced:
Sacredness of human life
Personal and public integrity
Freedom and human rights
Dignity of labour
Justice for all
